YOUTH AUDITIONS:
ZACH Performing Arts School’s musical theatre productions and classes Sunday, September 7
Students entering grades 2-9 are invited to audition at ZACH on Sunday, September 7. We are seeking strong singer/actor/dancers for Roald Dahl's WILLY WONKA Jr. and several BROADWAY REVUES!
WILLY WONKA Jr. is a yearlong production class meeting on Mondays, 5:00-7:30 from October-April. Training in voice, acting and movement is integrated into the rehearsal process. The cast will be comprised of experienced performers in grades 2-8. Directed by Jaclyn Loewenstein, with Musical Direction by Lana Leeds.
BROADWAY REVUES are semester-long production classes incorporating voice, dance and acting training into the process of creating a musical revue. We will be casting several different revues for various ages and levels, which meet on either Monday 3:30-5:00pm, Wednesday 5:00-6:00pm, or 6:00-7:00pm
About the Auditions
On Sunday, September 7, students will audition in groups of 20, with each audition slot lasting 1.5 hours. Students will be taught a short dance routine and a verse of “I've Got A Golden Ticket,” from Willy Wonka. Everyone will be asked to dance with a small group and sing alone.
No preparation is required, though it would be helpful to be familiar with the lyrics and/or melody to "I've Got a Golden Ticket." (Please do not try to imitate Grandpa Joe's style from the original movie soundtrack. We'll be doing an up-tempo version for children's voices.)
Audition times: To sign up for a time, call ZACH’s Performing Arts School at 512-476-0594 x236 or email education@zachtheatre.org. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Monday, September 8 beginning at 4pm. You must fill out and return an Audition form (link below).
For questions about the auditions, email jacki@zachtheatre.org.
