A Free Wedding for You: ZACH’s Gift to Our Town
It’s true: ZACH is giving away a full-fledged, invite-to-rehearsal-to-ceremony-to-reception wedding to one lucky couple — getting married, renewing their vows, having a commitment ceremony, or simply celebrating their love with local panache and an over-the-top party. We know it’s odd, and certainly lavish, but in staging the seminal marriage of Emily and George from Thornton Wilder’s beloved OUR TOWN, we found ourselves creating a set — and setting — far too incredible not to share with our community.
In performing the most produced play in American history, we had to make it an experience as unique as Austin, and, incidentally, the creative and ever-giving imagination of Producing Artistic Director Dave Steakley bore an OUR TOWN production that literally revolutionizes the regional theatre scene and our city, our town, our spirit. You might have read OUR TOWN in high school or seen it on stage before, but never has the play been as compelling, community inspired or strikingly visceral as the one Dave Steakley is about to launch. More than a play, it’s a monumental event. And it could be yours …
We want to share our creation with a local couple whose real-life love deserves a celebration tantamount to perhaps the most celebrated relationship of all time. The wedding will be its own event, not a part of the play or any of our performances, chosen by the winning couple and orchestrated by wedding planners, florists, cake-bakers, dress-makers, picture-takers and a slew of Austin’s most sought after wedding experts.
Even better, it’s all completely free for the winning couple. Love shouldn’t cost a thing, and this wedding giveaway will be priceless.
