ZACH's popular and award-winning Performing Arts School offers classes and special workshops in acting, comedy improvisation, musical theatre and voice, and a series of unique Homeschool Production classes.
MONDAY
Preschool Creative Drama (Ages 3-5)
Preschoolers create and perform original stories as they explore storytelling, characters, theatre games, puppets, dress-up, and more! A fun and active introductory acting class for the youngest players.

TUESDAY
Tuesday Troupers (Ages 7-10)
Class participants play theatre & improv games, explore their favorite stories & scenes and develop & practice performance skills. Students create and perform a final piece of their choice.

Rock Musicals (Ages 11 & up)
Students stage, rehearse and perform scenes and musical numbers from a variety of rock musicals. Learn about the history and development of the rock musical genre from shows like Tommy, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, Chess, Pippin, Lil Shop of Horrors and The Wiz. Actors, dancers, rock musicians and musical theatre performers are all welcome! Class culminates in a Rock Musical Revue in May. Class begins February 2.

Beginning Dance for Musical Theatre (Ages 9 & up)
Explore the wide range of choreographic styles that have contributed to shaping the musical theatre stage. Learn a variety of dance styles and create a musical revue to perform at the end of the semester. Previous dance experience is helpful, but not required.

Class begins February 2.
Intermediate Voice and Movement (Ages 11 & up)
Students learn and practice techniques of applying both voice and movement in performance, including alignment, vocal and physical energy, script and character analysis and monologue/song work. Intended for both "non-musical" actors as well as musical theatre performers with previous experience in classes or productions. Students showcase their skills in a May performance. C

Vocal Training for Musical Theatre (Ages 10 & up)
Explore professional techniques and tools for singing and acting on the stage. Students will practice diction, expand their vocal range, build confidence and learn to interpret songs as scenes. The class will prepare a final showcase revue of their favorite, fun musical numbers.

THURSDAY
Preschool Creative Movement (Ages 3-5)
Preschoolers explore and express themselves through creative movement and music. Discover music, rhythm, body awareness, locomotion, creative physical expression, cooperation, and more with Master Teacher Michele Owens-Pearce.

Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe (Ages 8-10)
Enter the world of Narnia as our class develops performance skills while putting together a magical show based on the stories and characters from this C.S. Lewis classic. Students should be able to read and memorize lines for short scenes, but will not be expected to learn the entire play.

Comedy Improv (Ages 12 & up)
Learn the basics of improvisational acting and sketch comedy. Play games as in “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Work on timing, teamwork and thinking on your feet as you train for a showcase to share with friends and family at the end of the semester.

Classes for Homeschoolers
ZACH's Daytime Production Classes are process oriented, production based classes for ages three and up. Classes culminate in end of semester performances. Most classes meet 1 day per week, and extra daytime rehearsals are often scheduled the final month of class. More Info
