Theatre for Youth - Shows for Schools

ZACH's Theatre for Youth series provides field trip opportunities for students to experience live theatre with educational content. Plays incorporate TEKS aligned subjects and offer Instructional Study Guides for teachers and students. Pre-school and Elementary audiences enjoy age appropriate shows that teach valuable lessons in an imaginative, interactive format.

Mariposa's Journey

Perfect for Kindergarten through 4th Grade

Learn about the lifecycle of a butterfly, its migration habits, where butterflies are located geographically and a bit about Dia de los Muertos this fall. Join Mariposa, a young monarch butterfly, as she makes her way from the US and Canada to find her family in Mexico and meets all kinds of characters along the way. Created by Tina Gramann and Shaun Wainwright-Branigan.

Holiday Heroes

Perfect for Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

The ever-popular Holiday Heroes explores different holiday traditions like Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa and more. As the two bumbling stage hands ready the set of a Big Holiday Show, they discover the trappings of the different traditions in the prop box and create a musical tribute to the season! Created by Jerome Schoolar and Shaun Wainwright-Branigan.

SHOWTIMES: Weekday mornings at 9:30am and 11:00am
COST: $6 per child ($7 for Holiday Heroes). Two teachers per class are free!
Discounts are available for Title 1 schools with a high percentage of students eligible for the free or reduced lunch program. Check with your bookkeeper to learn your current percentage before you call.

NOTES FOR TEACHERS
Remember to reserve your busses early!
Parent Chaperones
are welcome and should make reservations with the teacher coordinating the group. Payment for all parents must be collected before arrival to the theatre to help expedite the seating process.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing two weeks prior to your scheduled performance date. Groups that fail to give minimum written notice or fail to show on the reserved date are responsible for 20% of the balance.
