Auditions
ZACH Theatre is holding auditions for the character of BENNY in RENT by Jonathan Larson. Dave Steakley directs this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical. Rehearsals begin on August 23, 2010. The first performance is on September 16, 2010, with performances Wednesdays through Sundays. The final performance is on November 28, 2010.
Please be prepared to sing “You’ll See” from the musical. Please bring your sheet music for any additional rock songs that you know well.
CHARACTER:
BENJAMIN COFFIN III (BENNY) - landlord of Mark and Roger's building. Benny wants to start a multimedia studio.
SHOW SYNOPSIS:
Based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La Bohème, RENT tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
